Marlene Favela was born on August 5, 1976, in Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, Mexico. She was fond of acting, and was particularly interested in soap opera.

She entered Centro de Educacion Artistica de Televisa in the Mexican capital. In the meantime, she began modelling. Her initial modelling gigs were for Avon, Coke and Sears.

She also participated in soap operas. Among her first few plays were “La Intrusa” and “La casa en la playa”. In 2002, she acted in the series “Gata salvaje”. It was the first miniseries that was shot in the US and released in Mexico. Her next big appearance was in “Contra viento y marea” in 2005.

Her next two roles were in “Zorro” and “Ugly Betty”. Marlene also acted in a negative role in the series “Species: The Awakening”.
In 2008, Marlene Favela appeared in the Dominican Republic movie “Playball”.
