Mark Elliot Zucherberg is considered the king of Social Networking today. He is the co-founder of the social networking site “Facebook”.
Career:
Mark Zuckerberg was born on May 14th, 1984 to Edward Zuckerberg who was a dentist and Karen Zuckerberg who was a psychiatrist. Mark was born at White Plains, New York. However he was raised at Dobbs Ferry, New York along with his three sisters.
Mark was into computer programming since he started middle school. He started with programming games and applications. He did his schooling from Ardsley High School and his junior year from Phillips Exeter Academy where he specialized in Latin.
The first professional application that Mark made was for his father’s office, to ease communication between his office workers. He als
o created a game named “Risk” and a music player “Synapse” which had artificial intelligence programming, understanding the needs of the user. Mark then moved on to study Computer Science at the prestigious Harvard College in 2002.
Mark amazingly co-created Facebook while studing at Harvard College along with four other friends; Chris Hughes, Eduardo Saverin and Dustin Moskovitz. Astonishingly Mark launched Facebook from his dorm room on February 4rth, 2004.
Initially Facebook was limited to just Harvard students and it was an immense hit among there, so the founders moved on to include Stanford, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, NYU, Yale and Brown. Mark realized that Facebook had the potential of becoming a colossal success so he moved to California with some of his friends and hired a small office. Finally Mark got Peter Theil who invested in the idea of making Facebook global. Since then Facebook has not looked back and in 2010 it reached the peak of 500 million user.
Mark Zuckerberg has a movie made after him depicting his journey in making Facebook what it is today and it is named “The Social Network”.
