Marin Preda is born on August 5, 1922, in Silistea Gumesti, Teleorman. He was a famous Romanian novelist.

Biography and Career :

His literary debut is marked by a sketch in "The Time"(newspaper). In 1948 he publishes his first book: The short-stories volume( "The meeting between the Lands", "The Developement", "The Daring", "Dark Windows").

In 1955 he writes "Morometii",the former volum. IN 1967 shows up the latter volum. Meantime there are printed "The Wonderers" and "Ague".

The play "Martin Bormann" and the novel "The Intruder", "The Impossible Return", "The GreatLonely"(1972) and "The Delirium"(1975) set an impressive stamp above the realistic romanian literature.

In 1977 appears "Life as a Prey". In 1980 it is published the novel "The Most Loved from the Earthlin gs".

Marin Preda protects the condition of realistic literature, saying that praise has an important sense in history, reality and truth. A literary work must be judged regarding its part of truht and a good book is the one that reflects a psychological and social truth in an aesthetic manuer.

He ended-up his life in 1980, leaving behind a literary work inspired by contemporary realities, regarding ethical and existentials motives.

He melt Romanian prose with attentive psychological observation.

- Married to Eta Vexler, who was forced to emigrate to France.
- His first novel named "Cel mai iubit dintre pamanteni" (English Title : The Most Beloved of Earthlings) was published in 1980.
