Lyndon B. Johnson Lyndon B. Johnson (full name Lyndon Baines Johnson) was born on Thursday, August 27, 1908 in Stonewall, Texas, USA. He is the 36th President of the United States.

Biography and Career:

Lyndon B. Johnson grew up in the environment of poverty and economically backward rural area. He keenly observed and learned the compassion for the poverty of others, when he taught Mexican descent students.

Lyndon B. Johnson married to the former Claudia Lady Bird Taylor in 1934 and campaigned very brilliantly for Representative house with the great supported sponsor of his wife. He won a silver star as a result of his contribution in Navy as Lieutenant commander. He was appointed to senate after six terms. Lyndon B. Johnson was elected as Vice president in 1960 working as running mate of Jo hn F. Kennedy and became the president on 22 November 1963 after the terrible and shocking assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Lyndon B. Johnson main policies were based on Civil Rights, Tax cut, nation's strength as a great and prosperous society and accelerating progress.

In 1961 he got victory in the Presidential election, gaining 61% votes and this is the widest and highest Margin in U.S history. Lyndon B. Johnson Agenda was based on great society programs, educational improvement, elimination diseases, renewal of urban areas, betterment of depressed and angry regions, everlasting and successful battle against poverty and above all reduction of crime rate swiftly.

What he said in the beginning of campaign, he acted upon and the country made tremendous and brilliant explorations of space. It was the proud of his era when three astronauts orbited and defeated the moon in 1968.

Lyndon B. Johnson died of his third heart attack on 22 January 1973 at the age of 64 years.
