Luis Horna was born on September 14, 1980 in Lima, Peru. He is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

He is a tennis player who started his career when he was young and in 1998 became a professional player. Francisco Mastelli is his coach in the present and the person who goes with him at the tournaments.

His hobbies are playing football, playing golf, spending time with family and listening to rock music. On November 22, 2003 he married Ericka and the couple has one son and one daughter. His parents, Eliseo and Carmen, are a mine engineer and an administrator.

Until now (2007) he has won two ATP single tournaments, five Challengers and three ATP doubles tournaments. In 2002 were won three of the five Challengers in Zagreb, Furth and Weiden and his opponen ts in the finals were Dominik Hrbaty, Jurgen Melzer and Zeljko Krajan.

In 2003 and 2004 he won the titles at the Challengers in Seville and Bermuda after facing in the finals Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Martin Vassallo Arguello. In February 2006 he won the ATP title at the tournament in Acapulco and his opponent was Juan Ignacio Chela.

The last title was won in 2007 at Vina del Mar after beating in the final Nicolas Massu. All the seven single titles were conquered on clay. The three doubles titles were won at Amersfoort in 2005, at Palermo in 2006 and in 2007 at Kitzbuhel. The first two were played along Martín García and the third along Potito Starace.

Between 2003 and 2006 he played in the first round at Wimbledon and in 2006 in the second at the US Open. His best performance at a Grand Slam tournament in reaching the third round at the French Open in 2005 and at the Australian Open in 2006.
