Luis Bunuel (1900-1983) was a Spanish Surrealist film director.
Short Biography:
He collaborated with Salvador Dali in Un Chien Andalou in 1928, and established his solo career with Los Olvidados (The Young and the Damned) in 1950. His works are often controversial and anticlerical, with black humour and erotic imagery.
Later films include Le Charme discret de la Bourgeoisie (The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie) in 1972 (Academy Award winner) and Cet Obscur Objet du Desir (That Obscure Object of Desire) in 1977.
