Lu Yen-hsun was born on August 14, 1983 in Taipei, Chinese Taipei. He is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

At the age of eight years old he started playing tennis for the first time and in 2001 he became a professional player. Dirk Hordorff is his coach in the present and the person who supports him during the tournaments.

He likes playing basketball and watching movies when he is not on the tennis court. His parents' names are Hui-Yen and Su-Fen and he has a brother too, Wei-Lu who is older than him. Until now he has won half million dollars just from tennis.

On February 26, 2007 he was ranked on the 80th position in Top 100, which is also the highest he has ever achieved. He conquered one WTA doubles tournament and yet no single tournament. In Januar y 2005 he and Rainer Schüttler won the final of the tournament in Chennai against the team of Jonas Björkman and Mahesh Bhupathi.

He hasn't played at the Roland Garros until now (2007). His best performance at a Grand Slam tournament is reaching the second round in 2004 and 2005 at Wimbledon and in 2007 at the Australian Open.

In 2004 at the US open he played in the first round before being eliminated. After three years, in 2007 he was one of the quarter-finalists at the tournament in Memphis and finalist at the Challenger in Granby.

At the Challenger in Waikoloa in 2007 he played the semi-finals. Udomchoke was his partner at the Challenger in Granby and they reached the semi-finals.
