
Lourdes Dominguez Lino was born on March 31, 1981 in Pontevedra, Spain. She is a tennis player who resides in Barcelona.
Biography and career :
In 1996 she became a professional player and after ten years, on September 11, 2006, she was placed on the highest position of the Top 100 she has ever had until then, the fortieth position.
As a professional player she has won one WTA single title, eleven ITF single titles, two WTA doubles titles and thirty-two ITF doubles titles. On February 26, 2006 she played the final of the tournament at Bogota, Colombia. Her opponent was Flavia Pennetta and she managed to win the title. One year before, at the same tournament, the two players played the final but Flavia was the winner. The trophy in 2006 was like a little revenge for Lourdes.
In 2006 she played another final, this time at Budapest, but her opponent was Anna Smashnova and she was defeated. In 2006 she participated at all the Grand Slam tournaments. Her performance that year was the same: first round at all four tournaments, Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open.
She has won approximately half million dollars just from tennis. Even though she is not a tall player she has strength, she is talented and is a hard-working person. These qualities should help her win much more titles and have important victories.
