Louise Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun
Louise Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun (1755-1842) became painter to Queen Marie Antoinette in the 1780s (many royal portraits survive).
At the outbreak of the Revolution in 1789 she left France and travelled in Europe, staying in Saint Petersburg, Russia, 1795-1802. She resettied in Paris in 1809.
She published her Souvenirs 1835-1837, written in the form of letters.
