His work is, as ST put it, "an incredibly unique amalgam of his disparate graphic influences, filtered through a distinctly non-American eye" - meaning it looks shit hot.
Louie Cordero is a multi-awarded painter, cartoonist, sculptor and musician. He is also the creator of underground comics Nardong Tae, a self-published comic book that has already achieved cult-classic status in the Philippines and Japan. He is a graduate of CFA (College of Fine Arts) in University of the Philippines and has been one of the recipients of the Ateneo Art Award in 2004.
He was a resident artist of Big Sky Mind’s residency program from 2002 to 2004 and of the Vermont Studio C
enter in 2003, and has shown his paintings and drawings in Studio 3 in Japan, 111 Minna Art Gallery in San Francisco and Riviera gallery in New York. He is among the recipients of the 2007 CCP 13 Artists Award.
