Lothair II (c. 1070-1137) was the Holy Roman emperor from 1133 and German king from 1125. Short Biography:
His election as emperor, opposed by the Hohenstaufens, was the start of the feud between the Guelph and Ghibelline factions, who supported the papal party and the German emperors, respectively.
