
Lisa Kudrow (full name Lisa Diane Marie Kudrow) was born on July 30, 1963 in Encino, California. She is an Emmy Award- and SAG-winning American actress, best known for her roles as Phoebe Buffay in the popular television sitcom Friends and as Valerie Cherish in the HBO series The Comeback, which she co-created and produced.
Biography and Career :
She is the daughter of Nedra, a travel agent, and Lee Kudrow, a headache specialist and physician. After she attended to Portola Middle School in Tarzana, California she moved to graduate from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California After this she obtained her B.A. from Vassar College in Biology.
Initially she wanted to be a researcher like her father but in the end she became an actress after she made her debut as a member
of The Groundlings, joining the ranks of those such as Will Ferrell and Janeane Garofalo After she was a member of The Transformers Comedy Troupe she debuted on TV screens in an episode of Cheers.
She had some failures with obtaining roles in "Saturday night live", "Bob" and "Frazier" and she obtained her first major role with Ursula Buffay, the eccentric waitress on "Mad About You".
The really successful role of her was Phoebe in the sitcom "Friends" which brought her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She played in this sitcom for about ten years between 1994 and 2004 when the show ended and she was the most nominated character at Emmy Awards with six nominations.
She entered in the Guinness Book after she became the highest paid TV actress of all time with her $1 million-per-episode paycheck for the tenth season of Friends. On big screens she appeared in movies like: "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion", "Hanging Up", "Marci X", "Analyze This" and its sequel "Analyze That"
