Leni Riefenstahl (1902-2003) film of the Nazi rallies at Nuremberg Triumph des
WiUem/Triumph of the Will (1934) vividly illustrated Hitler's charismatic appeal but tainted her career. After World War II her work was blacklisted by the Allies until 1952.
Short Biography:
She trained as a dancer, appearing in films in the 1920s, but in the early 1930s formed her own production company, and directed and starred in Das blaue Licht/The Blue Light in 1932.
She also made a two-part documentary of the 1936 Berlin Olympics (Olympiad: Fest der Volkeri/Festival of the Nations and Olympiad: Fest der Schdnheit/Festival of Beauty).
