Lee Hyung-Taik was born on January 3, 1976 in Hoingsung, Korea. He is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

He became a professional tennis player in 1995 and his coach in the present, 2007, is Choi, Hee-June. Until now, he is the South Korean tennis player with the most successful career in the tennis world.

He has won one single tournament and one doubles tournament, but no Grand Slam tournament. In January 2003 he won the final of the tournament in Sydney on hard against Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Besides this title he also has eleven Challenger titles. They were won between 1999 and 2006 at Yokohama, Bronx, Seoul, Busan and Lexington. He won the finals against Paradorn Srichaphan, Reginald Willems, Radek Stepanek, Gouichi Motomura, John Van Lottum, Dennis V an Scheppingen, Jean-Rene Lisnard, Nicolas Thomann, Danai Udomchoke, Amer Delic or Bjorn Phau.

In 2003 at the Australian Open he reached the second round. The third round at a Grand Slam tournament was reached in 2004 and 2005 at the French Open and in 2007 at Wimbledon. In 2000 at the US Open he registered his best performance at a Grand Slam event. He was playing in the fourth round and unfortunately he was eliminated and couldn't continue in the next round.

An important victory was achieved in 2006 at Wimbledon when he won against Lleyton Hewitt in five sets. He is a good player and his great results can continue.
