Leah Remini (birth name Leah Marie Remini) was born on June 15, 1970 in Brooklyn,
New York, USA. She is an Italian-American actress who became famous after playing the role of Carrie Heffernan on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens.
Biography and Career :
She is the daughter of George Remini, owner of an asbestos company and Vicki Marshall, a former high school principal and current LA restaurant owner. Her parents divorced when she was just seven years old and at the age of thirteen she and her mother moved in
Los Angeles. Against her mother’s advices she left school one year later and after this she started to work.
She had a lot of jo
bs such as waitressing, selling car insurance, and as a telemarketer for a solar heating company. She debuted on TV screen in the middle '80's in an episode of "Head of the Class". After this she had minor roles in s few episodes from other popular television series like: "Cheers", "Living Dolls", a short-lived spin-off from "Who's the Boss?" and "Saved by the bell".
In 1997 her popularity increased because of her role as Terri Reynolds in TV serial "Fired Up". She also used her voice for a character in the video game "Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers".
