Laura Granville was born on May 12, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

She became a professional player and started winning titles. She has won six ITF single titles, two WTA doubles titles and four ITF doubles titles. Her performances as a single player at the Grand Slam tournaments are: she reached the third round at Roland Garros in 2003, also the third round at the Australian Open in 2004, again the third round but this time at the US Open in the year 2005 and the fourth round at Wimbledon in 2002 and 2007.

She won the Illinois Girl's High School Tennis State Singles Championships as a freshman at The Latin School of Chicago in 1996 and after two years she earned a wildcard at the US Open, but stopped into the sec ond round.

In 2000 she won the award at the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championships as a freshman at Stanford. The same performance was made next year, in 2001. In 2007 she managed to beat Martina Hingis in the third round at Wimbledon and this is one of her greatest successes until now.

She still has a long way ahead and can prove what she is capable of. If injuries will stay away and she can concentrate and train hard there is no doubt that she can have a successful career. She is a good player and with her skills and intelligent mind can be a champion.
