Lainie Kazan came to Australia several times during the 70's - she was a totally mezmerising performer. To this day I can still recall her singing "I Loves You Porgy" like no-one else ever has. I am at a loss to understand why she didn't reach the heights her talent suggested back then she would have. At around the same time, another "unknown" from America came Down Under - a guy called Lovelace Watkins. He, like Kazan, was an enormously talented entertainer who had a huge following among the Australians. |
