Lacey Mosley (full name Lacey Nicole Mosley) was born on September 4, 1981, in Arlington, Texas.
Biography and Career:
She was born to a single mother and was brought up in an overcrowded household with five other children. Her family had to keep moving constantly to meet the needs and this unsteadiness led her to drug addiction at 10 years only. She longed to be free from the confines of her family and, for once, she temporarily started taking bass guitar lessons at the age of 14.
After a few years, she was sent to live with her grandparents, following tussles with her mother. The she joined a band as bassist, but had to quit due to differences in ideas with her band-members. Then she got married and moved to Texas, where she met James Culpepper, a rising drummer.
Soo
n after, the duo inducted bassist Pat Seals and guitarists Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya to their band. The band played quite a few shows in 2002 under the name of Passerby. At one of their live shows, they came across Amy Lee’s Evanescence.
In 2004, the band was signed by Octone Records and they changed their name to Flyleaf. With that they set out on a tour with the likes of Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down and Staind.
In 2005, Lacey Mosley and her band released their self-titled debut album which received moderate response. It included three singles; one of them (“All Around Me”) reached #6 of Modern Rock Charts. The band then made heavy tours to promote their new album and played with bands like Korn. Flyleaf’s songs also appeared in the movies Live Free or Die Hard and Resident Evil: Extinction.
In 2008, Lacey Mosley and her band supported Korn on the European part of their tour “Bitch We Have a Problem”.
Why is she famous?
Lacey Mosley is famous as the lead singer of the alternative metal band Flyleaf.
Here is one of her famous quotes:
“Our music is honest. We are who we are... messed up, dysfunctional sinners that have been loved in spite of our hate. We don't deny that we live in a evil world and that we have been evil people and we have evil tendencies... but we also have touched righteousness through our faith in Christ.. and we have received salvation, hope, and love... So our songs always acknowledge this truth and in turn we hope they bring faith, hope and love into the midst of the selfish, fearful hatred that makes up so much of the world we live in.” – Lacey Mosley Image Source : friendster.com
