Klemi Saban (full name Klemi Rahamin Saban) was born on February 17, 1980 in Netanya, Israel. He is an Israeli soccer player playing for Steaua Bucharest.

Biography and Career :

He debuted as a professional football player in 2000 when he signed a contract with a local team from his birth town, Maccabi Netanya. He played there only one season in 29 games and didn't score any goal.

He was transferred to Hapoel Tel Aviv in the beginning of the season 2001-2002 and signed a contract for three years.

In the first season although he played in 9 games his team ended on the second place in the championship.

He didn't accommodate very well at Hapoel Tel Aviv and in the next two seasons played only five games.

At the end of his contract in 2004, Saban signed for Hapoel Petah-Tikva where played in 32 games and became one of the targets for transfer of the top teams in Israel.

The champion team Maccabi Haifa transferred him in 2005 and used him in 25 games but didn't score any goal.

At the beginning of the season 2006-2007 Steaua Bucharest paid for him 250.000 euro and obtained his signature for four years with a contract of 290.000 euro.

He debuted in Liga 1 (first Romanian League) on the 29th of July 2006 in a game against FCU Poli Timisoara ended with an equal score 0-0.

He also played with Steaua in UEFA Champions League and his debut was in a game against ND Gorica. After they eliminated ND Gorica, they succeeded the same performance against Standard Liege. They qualified in UEFA Champions League in a group with: Real Madrid, Olempique Lyon and Dynamo Kiev.

For the Israeli national team played in 10 games and he also played in 11 games for the Israeli under 21 team. The debut for the Israeli national team was in September 2004.
