Kenneth Wilfrid Baker ,Baron Baker of Dorking is an British Conservative politician, education secretary 1986-1989, and chair of the Conservative Party from 1989.
Short Biography:
He was elected to the House of Commons 1968; from 1983 he represented Mole Valley.
Undergoing national service in North Africa Baker was, for a time, a gunnery instructor to the Libyan army.
He then read history at Oxford, despite a reputation of being on the liberal wing of the Conservative Party, he became a minister of state in Thatcher's 1979 Administration.
