At the age of nine Keely's parents got divorced. Keely changed her name to Keely Smith after she joined Louis Prima and his band. She sang with the naval air station band led by" Saxie Dowell" at the age of 14. Keely got her first job with the source of income with the Earl Bennett band at the age of 15. She got married to Louis Prima and had two daughters Toni Prima and Luanne Prima and later the couple divorced in 1961.
