Dorothy Jacqueline Keely who is known as Keely Smith was born on March 9, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. She is an famous American jazz and popular music singer. At the age of nine Keely's parents got divorced. Keely changed her name to Keely Smith after she joined Louis Prima and his band. She sang with the naval air station band led by" Saxie Dowell" at the age of 14. Keely got her first job with the source of income with the Earl Bennett band at the age of 15. She got married to Louis Prima and had two daughters Toni Prima and Luanne Prima and later the couple divorced in 1961.

In 1948, Prima came at the surf club in Virginia and he was looking f or a singer during which Keely had come to audition and got selected .At the age of 18 Keely started her journey. In 1953 they got married and the couple came together in Las Vegas with Sam Butera who was the bandleader and made "that old black magic". In 1950's Keely and Prima were the success of Las Vegas .She was the hottest singer who played "straight man" to her husband Louis Prima's wild antics.

Keely recorded a number of successful duets with Prima and one of the known hits by the couple was "That Ol' Black Magic", which was considered to be a top 20 hit in 1958.

In 1965 Keely married Jimmy Bowen who is a record producer and they too were divorced. In 1985, she made a comeback with "I'm In Love Again ".

Keely's album "I Wish You Love," was her solo debut that received Grammy nomination and assured her own star power. She was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
