Biography and Career
Kathryn Harrold studied drama Mills College in New York, and has appeared in many television series, including 'Starsky & Hutch' (1978), 'Women in White' (1979), 'Vampire' (1979), 'The Rockford Files' (1979), 'The Women's Room' (1980), 'The Sender' (1982), and MacGruder and Loud' (1985), to name a few.
A few of Kathryn's more notable appearances, was when she starred opposite Steve McQueen as her leading leady in his movie 'The Hunter' (1980), and opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in 'Raw Deal' (1986). In 1982, she co-starred with Luciano Pavarotti in 'Yes, Giorgio'.
Another of Kathryn's well received films, was 1981's 'Modern Romance', in which she played the ex-girlfriend of Alb
ert Brooks' character. The film won good reviews from critics. In 1985, Kathryn played a supporting role opposite Paul Mazursky as his domestic partner and Michelle Pfeiffer as her trusted friend, in 'Into The Night', an action / suspense film direct by John Landis.
Kathryn had dated Albert Brooks while on the set of 'Modern Romance' in 1981, but she got married to MSNBC political analyst Lawrence O'Donnell, who also produced the award-winning series, The West Wing, and was a former Chief of Staff for the Senate Finance Committee.
Kathryn Harrold currently appears as Helen Rowland, in the television series, 'Desperate Housewives'.
