She studied at a special school for children with talent in sport and there she was very good because at the age of just 12 years old she represented the club SC Karl-Marx-Stadt for the GDR and had her personal coach named Jutta Müller.
From that age Katarina went at many concourses and there she was very good because almost all the time she was the winner of the show. When Katarina was just 19 years old she was voted "GDR female athlete of the year".
She participated at many shows and all the time she was on the first p
lace or on the second place. She was one of the best female skaters and she was very proud about her because she worked a lot all the time.
