Karin Knapp was born on June 28, 1987 in Brunico, Italy. She is a young professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

She is a great tennis player, but she is just at the beginning of her tennis career. After the French Open in 2007 many people saw her potential and she reached the best position in Top 100. On July 30, 2007 she was placed on the 46th position of the Top 100.

In 2002 she became a professional tennis player after starting her career when she was just a child. Until now (2007) she earned approximately two thousand hundred dollars just from tennis.

She has won one ITF single tournament and two ITF doubles tournaments. At two of the four Grand Slam competitions, Australian Open and US Open, she hasn’t qualified yet but she has a lot of time to achieve t hat.

In 2007 at Wimbledon she managed to qualify and play in the first round before being eliminated. At Roland Garros in 2007 she surprised everyone and she made a big step in her career after she reached the third round.

One of her most important victories there was over Alona Bondarenko, who was the 22nd seed. She lost eventually, in the third round, to Patty Schnyder from Switzerland after a match that ended with the score 6-4, 1-6, 5-7. She is young and talented and has a lot of time to show us what she is capable of.
