Biography and Career :
Karen went to the Park Ridge High School in Park Ridge, New Jersey and graduated in 1979. She continued with the University of Colorado and got a bachelors degree in recreational therapy. She started her modeling career in 1989 and appeared then in commercials and advertisements.
At the begining of the 90's she was a VJ for MTV and started appearing in movies. In 1995 the doctors told her she had sarcoidosis, a rare disease. She still fights with it and she even published a book 'Model Patient: My Life As an Incurable Wise-Ass'. She got married to John Lambros
in 1997 and they have a son.
