Justin Vernon was born on April 30, 1981, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was a part of a local band in Eau Claire named DeYarmond Edison. The band later shifted to Raleigh, North Carolina. But that resulted in splitting of the band.
Following the crunch, Justin Vernon went back to Wisconsin and stayed for four months in a hunting cabin. During that period, he wrote nine folk songs and considered them better than any he had written so far. From that recording spawned his debut solo show when he played some of those songs at concert while performing with the band Rosebuds.
On publishing the recording of that album on the internet, it became a hit and Justin Vernon became an internet celebrity in a short time. His first album For Emma, Forever Ago was released in October 2007 under the labe
l of Jagjaguwar and 4AD in Europe and UK. The album entered the Billboard 200 chart at #181. After that, his songs have been featured in a number of TV shows like One Tree Hill, Grey's Anatomy and House.
In 2008, Justin Vernon began touring the USA and, then, began a tour of Europe in September of that year. He also performed in New York in December.
