Julien Benneteau was born on December 20, 1981 in Bourg en Bresse, France. He is a professional tennis player.
Biography and Career :
He became a professional tennis player in 2000 and now (2007) he resides in Bogis-Bossey, Switzerland. His coaches and the persons who take care of his training are O. Malcor and O. Soules.
The most important moment in his career until now (2007) was when he played into the quarter-finals after eliminating players like Marcos Baghdatis, Radek Štěpánek and Alberto Martin at the French Open in 2006. Ivan Ljubicic was the one who defeated him after a match which ended with the score 6-2, 6-2, 6-3.
In 2003, 2004 and 2006 he played in the first round at the US Open and in 2004 and 2006 he reached the second round at Wimbledon. At the Australian
Open in 2006 he played in the third round.
This year, in 2007, he played the semi-final of the tournament in Hertogenbosch and the quarter-finals of the tournaments in Marseille, Chennai and Casablanca.
As a doubles player he has reached the final of the tournament ATP Masters Series Monte Carlo along Richard Gasquet and the semi-finals of the tournament in Memphis along Johansson.
He hasn't won a single ATP title yet, but instead has won two ATP doubles titles. We wish him good luck and many victories in the future. Let's hope that injuries will stay away from him and he will be able continue training.
