
Julie Christie (full name Julie Frances Christie) was born on April 14, 1941, in Chabua,
India. Most of her childhood was spent in a tea garden in India. Later on, Julie shifted to England after her parents divorced. She had to keep changing houses and schools during her teenage.
At about that time, Julie Christie developed an active interest in the field of acting. She acted in a number of plays in her school. Julie's enthusiasm in acting got her enrolled in the famous Central School of Speech and Drama in London. After that, she started auditioning in a few local film ventures.
In 1961, Julie Christie got her first breakthrough with her role in the series "A for Andromeda" in her country. Following this appearance, J

It was her role in the movie "Afterglow" by Nick Nolte that she received her third Academy Award nomination.
In 2004, Julie Christie appeared in three movies as an actress in a supporting role. The movies were "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", "Troy" and "Finding Neverland".
Her fourth Academy Award Nomination came with her leading role in the movie "Away From Her". It was the first movie directed by Sarah Polley. Julie Christie also got the award for Best Actress at the Golden Globe Award and the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role at the Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in this movie.
