Juan Monaco was born on March 29, 1984 in Tandil, Argentina. He is a tennis player who resides in Buenos Aires.
Biography and Career :
Also known as "Piquito", he started playing tennis when he was a kid and in 2002 he became a professional tennis player. Since turning professional he has won two single tournaments, but hasn't won any doubles tournaments.
His two titles came in 2007. The first was conquered at Buenos Aires. His opponent in the final was Alessio di Mauro. The second title was won at Portschach, against Gael Monfils from France. Both tournaments were played on clay.
In 2005 he played the final of the tournament in Casablanca, but Mariano Puerta, the other finalist beat him. At the US Open in 2004, 2005 and 2006 he played in the first round, but was then el
iminated.
In 2005 and 2007 at Wimbledon he had the same performances as he had at the US Open. At the Australian Open in 2006 he lost in the second round after doing a good match in the first round.
His best performance at a Grand Slam tournament came in 2007 at Roland Garros when he reached the fourth round. Guillermo Canas was the player who defeated him then. One year before, he was reaching the third round at the French Open.
He is talented and young and many people say that he will soon be an important name in the tennis world.
