Joss Stone (birth name Joscelyn Eve Stoker) was born on April 11, 1987 in the pastoral country of Dover, England. She is a popular singer.
Biography and Career :
She is the third of the four children of Richard and Wendy Stoker. Joss grew up in Ashill, Devon until she became a teenager and in this little village she bought her first album, one with
Aretha Franklin's Greatest Hits. After she listened that album she said that she would be a famous singer.
First contact with the music's world was at the age of 14 when she went to an audition for a popular BBC show, "Star for a Night". Her first success on a stage was soon after this when she performed Aretha Franklin's classic "(You Make Me Feel Like) A
Natural Woman". An agent saw her and offered her a contract.
She changed her name in Joss Stone and went to
New York and met Steve Greenberg, CEO of S-Curve Records. From now on her career grew more and more and the soul legend Betty Wright started to work with her for refine her voice.
On September 16, 2003 appeared her first album "The Soul Sessions", and it was a big success. Soon after this she appeared in Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Ellen, and in People magazine. In 2006 she had a role in the movie Eragon.
