Stewart was born in Diana, West Virginia. His father was a teacher mainly physical education instructor and his mother is a school teacher at Webster Springs Elementary School. Stewart went to West Virginia Wesleyan College, and after that he graduated with a business degree from West Virginia University.
He stated acting in local theater after that. He first acted in the areas of Sutton, West Virginia, and then he shifted to the New York City. He got involved with the 13th Street Repertory Theatre. He performed in Light Bulb and Beacon with actors like Brooke Shields and Rob
ert Forster.
He acted in the "To Green, With Love"Dawson's Creek episode of the Dawson's Creek". In the year 2003 he filmed a pilot movie Then Came Jones. And played the role of Bill Jenkins.
He acted in the movie "Bad to the Bone". He took part in several commercials including the famous one of Levi's .
He also acted in the series Third Watch which was a NBC series and he acted the role of Brendan Finney. He took part in the final season of the series.
