Joseph Addison was born on May 1st, 1672 in Milston, Wiltshire, UK and died on 17 June 1719 in London, UK at age 47.
Short Biography:
In 1704 he celebrated Marlborough's victory at Blenheim in a poem, "The Campaign", and subsequently held political appointments, including under-secretary of state and secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland 1708.
In 1709 he contributed to the Tatler, begun by Richard Steele, with whom he was co-founder in 1711 of the Spectator.
