Jon Hamm was born on March 10, 1971, in St Louis, Missouri. In school, he played the role of Winnie the Pooh in a school presentation. Later on, he graduated from the University of Missouri with a scholarship in acting. He lost both his parents by the time he completed college. He worked as a drama teacher in his high school till he got further offers.
After moving to Los Angeles in 1997, he had to wait for three years to get his first role in on television.
