He was born in Owensboro but most of his childhood took place in Florida.
John Christopher Depp and Elizabeth "Betty" Sue Wells, his parents divorced when Johnny was 15 years old. His career in movies started in 1984 when he was advised by Nicholas Cage to start playing in movies. His debut was in "Nightmare on Elm Street".
His early life was very controversial because was a rebel teenager and had a lot of problems with narcotics and vandalism acts. He got out of the school at
the age of 15 and soon after this he became a member of a lot of rock music bands. One of them was named "The Kids".
His first big success happened six years later with the role of Edward Scissorhands made by Tim Burton. Another big success was Donnie Brasco, a story about an undercover FBI agent who was infiltrated into Mafia. His partner in this movie was the legend of Hollywood, Al Pacino.
The last but probably not the least success of Johnny is Pirates of the Caribbean which has 3 parts and each of tem had an enormous money success. In this movies he plays the role of charming captain Jack Sparow.
