Johannes Rau
Johannes Rau (1931-2006) was the son of a Protestant pastor, Rau became state premier of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1978.
Short Biography:
In January 1987 he stood for chancellor but was defeated by the incumbent conservative coalition.
