Assumed name of Joseph Louis Barrow (1914-1981) was an American boxer, nicknamed "the Brown Bornber".

Short Biography:

He was world heavyweight champion (1937-1949) and made a record 25 successful defences (a record for any weight).

Louis was the longest reigning world heavyweight champion at 11 years and 252 days before announcing his retirement in 1949. He subsequently made a comeback and lost to Ezzard Charles in a world title fight in 1950.
