Jennifer Hudson (full name Jennifer Kate Hudson) was born on September 12, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is an actress and also a singer.
Biography and Career :
She studied at the Dunbar Vocational Career Academy. At the third season of American Idol she was one of the finalists. She recorded the song "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)" for this contest.
The role as Effie White in "Dreamgirls" brought her fame and an Academy Award. She appeared on Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose album. Since 2006 she has a contract with Arista Records, Clive Davis's label.
She released the album "Dreamgirls: Music from the Motion Picture" with Beyonce and Anika Noni Rose in 2006. In February 2008 she is planning to release her debut albu
m. Also in 2008 she will be seen in two movies: "Winged Creatures" and "Sex and the City: The Movie".
