She studied at The Beverly Hills Playhouse where her acting teacher was Milton Katselas and the Los Angeles High School for the Arts. On February 18, 1995 she married Bodhi Elfman. The couple has one child, Story Elias.
Her career started with roles in television series like "Roseanne", "NYPD Blue", "The Monroes", "Murder One" and "Almost Perfect". She is famous for her female lead role in "Dharma & Greg". A Golden Globe Award was won and this was a great thing for her and career.
