Biography and Career :
She studied at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan. Part of her childhood was spent in Lake Tahoe. In 1994 she left. In 1996 she had her first role in "Bastard Out of Carolina" and after that was seen in "Donnie Darko", "Saved!" or "Stepmom".
She received nominations at Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance in a TV Movie or Miniseries. In 1997 with the role in "Hope" she was nominated at Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or TV Movie.
Since 2002 she appeared in movie like "American Girl" and in the play "Doubt". She is very talented and h
as many fans all over the world. She has become successful at a young age and is considered a star.
Her last movies in 2007 are "Four Last Songs", "The Go-Getter" and "Into the Wild". In 2008 she will be seen in "The Ruins" in the role of Amy.
