Jelena Jankovic was born on February 28, 1985 in Belgrade, Serbia. She is a talented tennis player.

Biography and Career :

Jel was raised together with her two brothers by their economists parents,Veselin and Snezana Jankovic. She attended the Megatrend University in Belgrade.

Her tennis career started early, Jelena simply loving it. At first she practiced at the Tennis Club 'Red Star' and then at the Tennis Academy of Nick Bollettieri.

While still a junior she won the Australian Open and after becoming a professional tennis player she reached the second round at her first tournament at Indian Wells Masters.

In 2003 she entered the top 100 for the first time, being placed on the 90th position.

Next year she managed to beat Dementieva in the first round at the Austr alian Open, though she lost the second.

In 2005 she was a finalist at the Dubai Open,Seoul and Birmingham and semi-finalist at Berlin.

Until now (2007) she won the tournaments at Birmingham, Rome, Charleston, Auckland in 2007, Budapest in 2004 and Dubai in 2003.

We wish her luck and hope she'll win many championships from now on.
