Jeffrey Skoll was born on January 16, 1965 in Montreal, Quebec. He is a businessman and first president of internet auction firm eBay.
Biography and Career :
His parents were a teacher and a chemical company owner. In 1976 his family decided to move from Quebec to Toronto. After three years his father was diagnosed with cancer.
He attended the University of Toronto where studied electrical engineering. After he finished his studies he decided to go round the world for several moths. When he came back he founded Skoll Engineering and Micros on the Move Ltd.
In 1993 he attended the Stanford Business School where studied Masters of Business Administration. After three years he met Pierre Omidyar, who founded eBay. He worked hard and in 1998 became Vice President, Strategic
Planning and Analysis. Then he had to work less thanks to his back problems.
He is the CEO of Participant Productions, which is a Los Angeles based media company that fund feature films and documentaries. Because he likes helping people very much he founded Skoll Foundation and every year does charity actions and gives large amount of money.
