She studied at the Maryknoll School, which is a Roman Catholic. After this, she was planning to move to Los Angeles in order to begin her music career. Rudy and Nora are her parents' names. Besides her they have one son and one daughter: Ronel and Neolani.
She participated at the third season of American Idol and ended the competition on the third place. The genres she is singing are Pop and R&B/Soul. She has a contract with Universal Records. She was seen on the television show Your Song: Ang Soundtrack ng LoveLife mo! in 2006 and 2007.
