Thora Janette Scott was born on 14 December 1938 in Morecambe, England to parents Jimmy Scott and Thora Hird, who are actors. She started her acting career as a child actress, known as Janette Scott, and became a popular leading lady.
Among her best known roles was as April Scott in the 1960 film School for Scoundrels, based on the "One-upmanship" books by Stephen Potter, in which Ian Carmichael and Terry-Thomas competed for her attention.
Janette Scott wrote her autobiography at the age of 14. Her role in the film The Day of the Triffids is referenced in the opening song of The Rocky Horror Show ("Science Fiction/Double Feature") which made references to many B-movie sci-fi and horror films.
She has also played in films like Paranoiac in 1963, Siege of the Saxons in 1963, The
Old Dark House in 1963, The Beauty Jungle in 1964, Crack in the World in 1965, Bikini Paradise in 1967 and also ashe has a more recently a role in How to Lose Friends & Alienate People in 2008.
She has been married three times, the first time to Jackie Rae between 27 June 1959 and 1965, the second time to Mel Tormé between 20 May 1966 and 1977 and the two of them have to children, including son James Tormé, and the third time she married William Rademaekers is 1981.
