James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet (1860-1937) was a Scottish playwright and novelist, author of "The Admirable Crichton" in 1902 and the children's fantasy "Peter Pan" in 1904.
Short Biography:
He became known by his studies of Scottish rural life in plays such as "A Window in Thrums" in 1889.
His reputation as a playwright was established with "The Professor's Love Story" in 1894 and "The Little Minister".
His later plays include "Quality Street" in 1901 and "What Every Woman Knows" in 1908.
