James Blake was born on December 28, 1979 in Yonkers, New York, USA. He is a powerful tennis player being placed on the 9th position of Top 100.
Biography and Career :
He has British, American and African origins. His parents are Tommy Sr. and Betty Blake. His family is a large one and consists of other four boys and one girl. He attended the Fairfield Warde High School in Fairfield, Connecticut and then he went to Harvard University, but studied there only one year as he realized his great dream was tennis.
* In 1999 he became a professional tennis player. Until now he has won nine titles at tournaments like the one at Washington, New Haven, Stockholm, Sydney, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Bangkok, Stockholm and Sydney again. He also won five doubles tournaments at Cincinna
ti, Scottsdale, San Jose, Houston and Munich.
* At the Australian Open he managed to play into the fourth round in 2003, 2004 and 2007, where lost to Fernando Gonzalez.
* In 2006 he played at all the four Grand Slam tournaments. At the French Open he was eliminated in the third round, at the US Open in the quarter-final, just like one year before and at the Wimbledon in the third round.
* On November 20, 2006 he was placed on the 4th position of Top 100 and it is the highest position for him until now. The amount of money won by him only from the tournaments is about 4.5 million dollars.
* In 2007 he played in the third round at Wimbledon. He is a talented and powerful player and is well known for his speed.
