Jake Gyllenhaal (full name Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal) was born on December 19, 1980, in Los Angeles. His sister is Maggie Gyllenhaal and his mother was a screenwriter and his father a director.
Jake’s acting career began with the movie, City Slickers (1991).Some of his next movies, like A Dangerous Woman (1993) and Homegrown (1998), were directed his father. He passed from the Columbia University in the meantime.
Jake Gyllenhaal got his first lead role in October Sky of 1999. After that, he was seen in the movie Donnie Darko (2001). Other movies of this time were The Good girl, Moonlight Mile and The Day After Tomorrow (2004). The film was a big commercial success.

His movies in 2005 were Jarhead and Brokeback Mo untain. Thereafter, he played the role of a cartoonist in Zodiac (2007). There he met Reese Witherspoon as well. Jake’s next movies were Brothers (2008) and Nailed (2009).

Jake Gyllenhaal is famous as an actor. His roles in movies like Zodiac (2007) and Brokeback Mountain (2005) gave him big publicity.
