Her father is an entrepreneur and her mother, a very successful photographer. When she was 15 years old she was discovered by Stephan Jansen, who is an Italian fashion designer. He proposed her to go to Milan. At a young age, 17 years, she posed for the French edition of the Vogue magazine.
She mixed the modeling career with school and attended The King's School, Canterbury. Calvin Klein, Prada, Burberry, Versace , Gucci and The Gap are just some of the brands she worked for, appeared in advertisements and commercials. In 1999 she was chosen 'Model of the Millennium' by The Face magazine. The Sunday Times said in 2002 that she is one of the highest paid models
in Britain.
She is staying in New York in the present (2006). She has started a relationship with Alexi Lubomirski, who is a Russian photographer. She is the owner of a charity HemiHelp in 2003.
