Ivo Karlovic was born on February 28, 1979 in Zagreb, Croatia. He is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

He is a very tall player, in fact he is the tallest who has ever played in the ATP circuit. In 2000 he became a professional tennis player after starting his career at an early age. Since then he has won two ATP single tournaments, four single Challengers and one ATP doubles tournament.

In November 2001 he won the first Challenger at Urbana against Robby Ginepri and the match ended with the score 6-4 7-6. In 2003 another two Challengers were conquered, one at Binghamton and one in Bronx. His opponents in the finals were Nicolas Thomann and Dmitry Tursunov.

The last Challenger won was at Calabasas in 2004 where he faced in the final Alex Bogomolov Jr.. All the Challengers were played on hard.

In April and June 2007 he managed to win the two ATP titles, the first one in Houston on clay and the other in Nottingham on grass. Mariano Zabaleta and Arnaud Clement were his opponents in the finals.

At the tournament in Memphis in 2006 he and his partner, Chris Haggard, won against the team formed of James Blake and Mardy Fish. This way he won his first and only doubles title until now (2007).

At the Australian Open and French Open he reached the second round in 2004 at the first one and 2006 and 2007 at the second. In 2003 at the US open he played in the third round before being eliminated and the next year at Wimbledon into the fourth. In 2005 he married Alsi and they have a happy marriage.
