
Iran Castillo (full name Iran Castillo Pinzon) was born on January 4, 1977 in Veracruz, Mexico and she is a Mexican actress.
Biography and Career :
Iran Castillo started her artistic career at the tender age of 7 years doing commercials. She took acting classes with Martha Zabaleta and Pedro Damian at the age of 12, and from that moment began to work starting with the soap opera Angeles blancos in 1989.
In 1996, "Confidente de Secundaria" (Junior High Confident) was one of the soap operas with the hightest ratings on mexican television. Iran Castillo played the part of Jackie, and interpreted the songs "Amandote" (Loving you) and "De corazon a corazon" (from heart to heart), a duet with Flavio Cesar, and "Hoy mas que ayer" (Today more than ever); all of these part of the "C
onfidente de Secundaria" soundtrack.
Iran Castillo became more and more interested in music, so she stated taking singing clases to begin her singing carrer more seriously.
In 1997, Iran Castillo releases her first album "Tiempos Nuevos" (New Times). It was recorded in Mexico City and it includes ten pop hits. Most of the songs are ballad pop.
Iran Castillo says that she likes ballad pop, and her producer agrees that is the kind of music that suits her best.
Iran Castillo chooses her own way of dressing. During the promotion of this album she used to wear the hats, bracelets, and the colored shirts that were used by the hippies in the '70s.
On August of 1999, she returned to Mexico from Miami, Florida to continue with the promotion of her her second album with hit singles like "Sola" (Lonely), "Por ti, Por Mi" (For you, For Me) and "No Vendra" (He won't Come). By the end of 1998, she became part of the cast of the hit soap opera Sognadoras (dreamers), playing the part of a senior High School student. Iran Castillo's second album includes the ending theme song of this show. The theme song from the soap opera "Preciosa" is included as a bonus track of the special edition of "Tatuada en tus Besos, and several versions of the song are included in the soundtrack.
In 1999, Iran Castillo continued her acting career in the movie "La Segunda Noche" (The Second Night), based on a story of Roberto Gomez Bolagnos (from the "Chespirito" comedy series) playing Rosalia.
Iran Castillo also belongs to the group Mosquitas Muertas, which she began her career as a singer in 1991.
Previously, Iran Castillo had acted in other plays as Celos-Dije and Vaselina (Grease) taking the main roll of Sandy. Iran Castillo also made some movies such as Que vivan los muertos, and also played the protagonist in the film La Segunda Noche.
Iran Castillo acted in the telenovela Locura de amor, playing Natalia, and managed to captivate the public, in spite of the short time that appeared on screen. Iran Castillo replaced Adriana Nieto, who left the series on bad terms late in its run.
In 2002 Iran Castillo combined the telenovela Clase 406 and the film El Tigre de Santa Julia, which was a big success.
In 2003 Iran Castillo started recording the telenovela Amar otra vez, in which she played the protagonist, under the production of Lucero Suarez. This melodrama was released in January of 2004 in the United States and May of the same year in Mexico.
