Ingrid Bergman (1917-1982) was a Swedish actress, whose early films include "Casablanca" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" both in 1943.
Short Biography:
By leaving her husband for film producer Roberto Rossellini, she broke an unofficial moral code of Hollywood "star" behaviour and was ostracized for many years.
During her "exile", she made films in Europe such as "Stromboli" in 1949 (directed by Roberto Rossellini).
Later films include "Anastasia" in 1956, for which she won an Academy Award.
